Automatically sync smart playlists to Ipod Shuffle

I set up an intelligent playlist that incorporates skip counts/last played tags and other information to feed my 2nd generation Ipod shuffle.

As I play songs on the shuffle and synchronize the player, the playlist gets updated (on the mac). But the changing playlist is not reflected in new songs being transferred to the shuffle.

How can have an intelligent playlist sync with my Ipod shuffle automatically without pushing "autofill from playlist X" - I looked around and tried to google an answer to this but couldn't find any definite/helpful guidelines.

I can't seem to edit the above post. Just to clarify - 2 options would be feasible (from my POV):

1. Automate the autofill feature.
2. Tell the shuffle to sync to one playlist (and look for changes + sync these on connections thereafter).

Again: my google-fu has come to an end.
