Creative Suite Prem CS3 will not accept updates

Hi

I'm running Creative Suite Design Premium CS3 on a Mac Pro Dual core Intel 2GHz with 4 GB RAM. I imported everything from my G4 into this Mac Pro tower during the setup stage of the OS. I'm running Tiger 10.4.10

Everything (including Quark 7) is running fine accept my Adobe Creative suite. At fist it would crash whenever I tried to save a file. I was able to fix this following instructions from this forum:

Now all the apps work fine accept Illustrator will not accept the 13.0.1 update. I get the error , " an error occurred installation. The update cannot be applied to the product."

I have tried an uninstall and a reinstall of the trouble app and of the whole suite without any success. I even replaced the Adobe Version Cue CS3Client/3.1.0/ from a machine that has a working copy of CS3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
