Powermac G5 dual into Single, possible?

Is it possible to make it run on just 1 cpu if the other is bad? It's a dual 1.8 btw.

There is an Apple Tech Q&A which discusses how to tell it to use only one CPU, but it doesn't appear to allow you to select which, so this may not disable the one you want.
