Office 2008 reg. code - where is it kept?

Before we received our "campus" CD we had a copy of Office 2008 with only one product code. I installed it on my machine and then a colleague put it on his and when one of us started Entourage when the other one was already running it, it came up with a message that one is already running and it was going to close. OK, fair enough, this copy can only run on one machine. However, we have now got our "campus" CD, so both of us deleted the original software and re-installed from the "campus" CD. However, both of us still get the warning message so the old reg. code must still be on our machines somewhere, so does anybody knew where?

thanks

Not sure if this will meet your need, but it is the way one changes their Product Key Code or User name, ergo I think it should work:

Delete these two files:
~:Library:Preferences:Microsoft:Office 2008:Microsoft Office 2008
Settings.plist
where ~ is your home folder, and in
HD: Applications:Microsoft Office 2008:Office:OfficePID.plist

there should be a uninstaller inside of the office 2008/office folder use it to get all of the office files out.

Seems to me that "Office un-installer" simply deletes the main Office 2008 folder. Nothing else is removed.

Pendragons tip worked, thanks. I deleted all the files and my colleague trashed the whole folder and re-installed it and we don't "clash" any more.

kaptagat,

Glad it worked. I was fairly certain it would as upon a µS (re)launch, one is again prompted for the reg. number etc., ergo the old ref must be gone. But with µS, much lurks therein that confuses the gods. Well, at least me.

Still, I should have mentioned that.

"Remove Office" is not removing these files. Seems something is broken in the 2008 version.
