I agree with you ThreeDee that WEP is weak encryption, but this isn't a question of what the router is capable of.

The Broadcom wireless cards in Apples (pre-Intel) significantly limit the user in terms of range and speed. With the Orangeware driver you can use an Atheros based CardBus card (even super-g) and increase the performance notably. Although WEP may not be the answer, if you're using this card in an 802.1x (Authentication) environment there would be good value in i - both in terms of price, and utility.
