iPod shows on Desktop but not in the source list for iTunes
Not sure what's going on here. No crash or anything strange. My iPod shows up on my desktop but not in the source list of iTunes 4. I have tried re-installing iTunes but that seems to have done nothing. Any ideas?

Fiddle with the prefrences. When I first got my iPod, the same thing happened to me. Try switching on and off random things having to do the the iPod and checking and unchecking boxes. Hopefully, one of them will help, it did for me. Good luck!

Try deleting your com.apple.ipod.plist file in /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/
It might work...

I have tried both of the suggestions and a number of other things including installing iTunes 3 and trying that. Is there any other App I can use to manage my iPod? If iTunes gets this confused I would rather not bother with it. Is there any way to rest my iPod preferences without iTunes or a full Restore?
