Question iTunes and iPod - move Library to new computer

I want to move my whole iTunes folder from my portable to my desktop, because my portable's (iBook) hard drive is full. Is there any neat way to resync my iPod with the desktop, instead of the iBook? From my reading, it looks like I will have to let the iPod be rewritten with all the same files, which amounts to about 11Gb right now.

Can you hook up the iBook to the desktop in target mode and then copy over the Music folder, from iBook to Desktop?

When you try and sync with the desktop now it will most likely ask if you want the iPod overwritten with the 'new' library, which should be fine since it is really the same library.

While I didn't explain that well - I am sure someone here can make sense of it to give you directions to do it.

Sorry - there is also iPod Viewer which will let you copy from your iPod directly to the desktop, starting yourself a new library.
