Here are just a few things to keep in mind as you get used to using vBulletin, which runs this site.
- Once you're inside any topic, just click on the green "+" sign icon at the end of a thread's name to jump to the newest article in that thread. If you just click the thread's name, you'll jump to the first article in the thread.
- Click on the "quote" button instead of the "reply" button to respond to something further up the timeline. If you wish to respond to post #4 out of 10 total, for example, click the "quote" button on post #4. You'll get a pre-made "Written by XYZ" quote box in the text input box, which will help add some context to your reply.
- Read the FAQ - there's some good stuff in there, including information on how to customize your profile and referrals, an easy way to point people to the boards.
- Use thread ratings when you find something good! There's a thread rating box at the bottom of each thread. If you found the information provided to be particularly useful, go ahead and give the thread a good rating. This can help other viewers pick those threads that were most helpful.
- You can disable seeing other poster's signatures by modifying your preferences.
- You can see who's online with the pop-up "forum navigation" box at the bottom of each thread. Just pick "Who's Online" from the pop-up menu.
- If you see a post that may be considered inappropriate relative to our guidelines (available in the FAQ), please use the "Report this post to an Administrator" link to let us know about it. Although we do our best to read everything here, it's nearly impossible to stay caught up on every discussion.
- Despite what it states in the preferences, your email address is NEVER available for anyone to view. You do not need to hide your email address from other viewers; it's always hidden.
There are many other features of vBulletin, some of which are covered in the FAQ's, and others can be found by just trying a few of the links.
