Album songs out of order on ipod

when I rip an album to itunes, for some reason it doesn't keep the songs in order. Is there a way to set itunes or ipod so that the songs play in order. I don't know about anyone else, but to me its very discombobulating.

Thanks

Did you sort the playlist by track number before transferring to the iPod?

song order

when I put a cd in my drive, the songs come up in order, then I just click the "burn" button and they are transferred. How can I keep them in order when I sync my ipod?

iTunes

Here's what I do -. Step by step. 1.insert CD. 2. Get CD track names. 3. Instal. 4. Sellect the new album in 'Library' (enter name in search if you need to) click on first track, hold "shift" key, click on last track. All the tracks should now be highlighted. 5. Drag all the tracks to the album of your choise in 'Source'. 6. When you select this album make sure the small bar above the track No. is selected and the arrow is pointing up.

All the tracks of that and previous CD's in that album will be in order.

Hope this helps.
