Is it possible to use code in one of my pages created and published through iWeb? I'd like to add a countdown timer such as the one seen here.
P.S. This countdown isn't the classiest looking thing. I'm open to better recommendations if you know of one. Thanks for all your help! I brag about you guys to my friends all the time. And this remains the first thing I recommend when my friends first "switch" to a Mac. You're appreciated.

I pasted the code into the textbox, but it did not work correctly. Instead of displaying the countdown timer it just shows the code. Does iWeb convert its text to image files? If so, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.
However, when viewing the site in my web browser, it does allow to click on the hyperlink found within the code. Then the counter opens in a new window. Please take a look at referenced page HERE. Further suggestions? I know i've heard of people putting code into iWeb. I just don't know what to try next. |

I would make the page without the countdown first.
Then open the page in something like Textwrangler , and put the embed text in from there. I just did a quick edit of your page that way. and the countdown works. |

I think what Mark means is that you make your page in iWeb and then open it with a text editor (like TextWrangler) to edit the source code of the page and insert the code for the counter (this will be difficult without some knowledge of html coding). Save it and publish it with iWeb.
Could be that you have to do it again every time you edit the page in iWeb but I'm not sure since I never used iWeb. |

That's exactly what I mean. thanks.
Try the page I edited, on your site. It should pick up the other items on the page from the site. Lets hope you only get Married the once so do not have to re-edit this page again.

Yip its the only way I know of doing it. create the page then edit afterwards in something else, Its the one thing I wish iWeb had was a "code box"
drag the box to where you want is and add the code. its an easy way of adding a banner or somehting if you have the need to do so.

Thanks for sharing this link. It looks very promising. Im gonna try out a few tips mentioned there.
iWeb Enhancer This definitely looks like it should do exactly what I am needing. However, I followed the steps (2) just as it says but with no results. Please take a look at what its doing and tell me if you see something wrong on my part. |

Ok guys! I got it to work. And for the record, here's what I was doing wrong.
iWeb Enhancer asks you to choose your site folder. Well, I was choosing the data file saved on my hard drive when I needed to choose the folder where iWeb is actually published. Just a silly mistake that I overlooked. Thanks for all your help and feedback on this. |
