Green "Online" Image

Might be useful/cool if the green aqua-like "online" image (which already looks like a pressable button) that appears beneath a poster's name in threads when he/she is "online" were actually a clickable link which allowed a user to send a private message to that poster.

There have been a few times when I've checked a thread and seen a very recent posting in it whose poster is still "online", and I've wanted to issue a quick private response to try to "catch" them before they leave the forums. I know that private messages can be sent, but it seems like that particular green button would be a very convenient/intuitive way to additionally access that feature.

I'll see if I can't manage to figure that out (shouldn't be too hard).

In the interim, you could just click the little "Send PM" text link at the bottom of that poster's posting; it will accomplish the same result.

cheers;

That is a good point. It just seems like that "button" should do SOMETHING, and that's where I intuitively have been moving my pointer when thinking "private message"...

Maybe someday if there is a real-time chat element to the forums, then that's what that button should be used for.

Best,
Rusty
