iPod MP3 Play Count
When you play a song on the iPOD, does it increase the playcount or not?

I don't think the iPod modifies any ID3 tags. I know my play counts aren't affected, at any rate.

I know mine aren't updated. But. I have auto-synching turned off (being as my music library is 40 gigs large). I wonder if the counts are updated when auto-synching is on?

the playcounts are affected on the ipod. that is if you look at your ipod in itunes, you'll see what you've been listening to and how much. at least that's what i'm seeing...
i think the play count info is stored in the database file on the ipod and is independent of your itunes mp3 library.

Is there any way to merge this information? I like cycling through my library, and switching between playing songs on my iPod and on my computer through my sound system means I often hear the same song within short periods of time. I don't mind, because I like most of my stuff, but still...
